Have you ever wanted to be an “insider”?
I became an “insider” recently. I did. Seriously.
A few weeks ago I traded some of my own high-quality titanium gear for a bunch of other high-quality titanium gear.
And in that bunch of stuff was an awesome titanium flashlight (well, we call it a “torch” where I’m from. But… when in Rome, right?).
The quality of this flashlight and the quality of the beam of light that comes out the end of it is… well, I’ll never be the same again.
And here’s the thing:
Now that I’m aware of how good a flashlight can be - the days are gone where I stroll into a hardware store and grab one off the shelf. That’s the good news.
The bad news is… I’m now officially “a flashlight snob”.
Truthfully, I’ve barely even scratched the surface of the world of high-end flashlight. But, I do feel I’ve broken in to the “inner circle”. Part of the “underworld” of people who know.
So, when I saw the Flame Angel on Kickstarter, I just had to let you know about it.
The Flame Angel is a high-quality, underwater (down to 300m) 1000-Lumen flashlight that can be attached a standard GoPro mount. It has a Li-ion USB rechargeable battery and the flashlight itself is available in styles (Sport Mode: for general use …and Video Mode: for, well, shooting video).
So, yeah, it packs almost as much punch as Chuck Norris!
The Flame Angel looks damn cool… which I’m always a sucker for (but not quite as much as the sucker I am for functionality).
So far I’ve not backed this project because, well, I just can’t envisage myself making the best use of it. It’s designed for hardcore, underwater enthusiasts. Which I’m not. I get seasick.
But I thought this project was worth a mention because it looks a well-thought-out concept.

I started this website for a couple of reasons... Firstly, because I couldn't find any "gadget" type websites that aren't covered in distracting advertising. Secondly, I design and manufacture my own high-end products (and so, yeah, this is a place where I can shamelessly promote my high-end products :-).
