This might shock you, but…

I used to bake bread. I’m serious. I did.

Well, not as in being a baker or such - but I had a bread-maker (you know, one of those things that sit, usually unused, in your kitchen).

Used it every day. Sometimes twice a day when we had a bunch of people over on holiday.

I keep meaning to get one - but, well, I just never seem to get around to it (much like trying to my attempts to cut down on coffee).

But there’s a project on Kickstarter just now I really felt was worth sharing with you.

It’s basically an oven that goes inside your oven. Yeah, I know, weird.

The Fourneau Bread Oven is a cast-iron “mini oven” that fits inside your standard oven and turns you into a real, honest-to-goodness baker!

I want to back this project - but unfortunately they don’t offer a shipping method to New Zealand right now (waiting for a reply from them on this).
Worst case is I’ll have it sent to someone in the USA and get them to forward it onto me.

But I must confess:

I’m not backing this for me own use (my baking days are over… the older I get the more I want everyone else to just do, well, everything for me… surely I’m not alone on this?).

If I can get one of these Fourneau Bread Ovens, then it’s for a friend of mine who’s a baking "ninja" (I really hope she doesn’t stumble upon this page).

The Fourneau Bread Oven has a pretty good project page (and by that I mean the Creators have done an excellent job telling their story, explain the product really well, and so on…).

Worth a look for sure.
