How To Stop Your Headphone Jack From Breaking

Within the next thirteen seconds you're going to say, "How come this hasn't been invented already?"

When I saw this Kickstarter project I was all over it like a fat kid on a donut. I backed it right away.

Using a magnetic adapter the MAGZET turns your standard headphone jack into a jack that can “snap off” if it gets snagged or caught on something.

The two biggest (and very real) benefits I see are:

Firstly, far less risk of breaking the female audio-jack connection on the device you’re using (iPad, laptop, etc.) when you get your headphones cable snagged. I can’t be the only person this has happened to, surely?

And secondly (although it’s kinda the same thing), the saving of your headphones from breaking when they get snagged. By this I mean it stops the wires getting suddenly pulled out of the speakers (because, as we both know, in this day and age we can’t really fix this kind of issue).

Truthfully...

The current version they’re showing on the Kickstarter campaign is a little “chunky” for my own taste (which, if you’re not already aware, is almost always on the side of compact, simple and minimal).

In saying that, when you scroll down the Kickstarter page, the Creators say the final design will be smaller. Which is music to my ears (see what I did there?).

It will be interesting to see how practical the MAGZET is in everyday use. Roll on December 2015.

I started this website for a couple of reasons... Firstly, because I couldn't find any "gadget" type websites that aren't covered in distracting advertising. Secondly, I design and manufacture my own high-end products (and so, yeah, this is a place where I can shamelessly promote my high-end products :-).
